Medium Crawler is a data management tool for Windows. The application plays nice with CDs, DVDs and file images. It scans any new medium that you add and keeps track of its structure on the main window. You can then go back to the list and see what is in your mediums. The graphical user interface takes the form of a database sheet. You get some basic information about the mediums that you have added through time, such as name of the CD/DVD, date it was added, serial number, and you can even add a category. If you double click any of the entries, you will be taken to a new window, in which you will be able to see the file structure of that medium. So, for example, if you have a movie collection on DVDs numbered 1 through 20, you can just add them to Medium Crawler and it will scan the DVDs and return the movies that are in every one of them. Then, if you want to save the collection of mediums, you can either export it to HTML or CSV files. The HTML-generated list looks rather simplistic, but all you need are the names of the movies. The scanning of mediums is fast enough that you don't need to leave discs in the tray for a long time.
